You aren’t best friends unless you’ve planned at least one startup with them.

Yes! That was my bond with Amit.

And it feels like yesterday when he was right here asking me to start it already, but I waited for the right time. It never came.

Amit was diagnosed with a rare disease leading to multiple organ failure. Amidst COVID in 2020 Indore, he was fighting his own battle, as I helplessly sat beside, watching him fade away. He could not eat anything except plain and less salted Khichdi, so to keep it interesting, I tried new recipes every day, making the same khichdi in different styles for the rest of us and him. It was the toughest yet brightest moments of my life, the amount of light and energy I saw in him in those final days was overwhelming. I was lucky enough to be able to say goodbye to my Best Friend.

His dream for me was now mine to make into reality. His parents and my family have been very supportive of me all throughout the process of building “Khichdi Nation”. This is not just a brand but an emotion, a connection. An attempt of passing on the comfort of Khichdi, It’s simplicity and uniqueness. Bringing all together as a family, healthy and sick, old and young, there is something for everyone.
